High-Speed Rail Line Connects Rome and Naples
A high-speed rail line connecting Rome and Naples, officially known as the Naples-Rome high-speed railway, was inaugurated on 11 December 2005.
Travel time
The line is 217 km (135 mi) long and has a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph); this allows trains to complete the journey in just 60 minutes.
- It takes 75 minutes by conventional train and 2 hours by car.
- Rome to Naples: 21 Frecciarossa trains per day, 12 on weekends
- Naples to Rome: 19 Frecciarossa trains per day, 12 on weekends
- The first train departs from Rome at 06:40 and arrives in Naples at 07:40; last train departs from Rome at 21:30.
- The first train departs from Naples at 07:00; the last train departs from Naples at 21:00.
