Benjamin Šeško: Bayern vs Leverkusen Preview

Introduction

Benjamin Šeško, RB Leipzig's newly acquired forward, will miss the Bundesliga opener against Bayer 04 Leverkusen due to injury. The Slovenian international suffered a muscle tear in training and is expected to be sidelined for several weeks.

Šeško's absence is a blow to Leipzig, who were hoping to field their new signing in their first competitive match of the season. The 19-year-old has impressed during his time with RB Salzburg, scoring 24 goals in 86 appearances for the Austrian club.

Absence at Bundesliga Start

Leipzig will now have to rely on other options in attack, with Yussuf Poulsen and André Silva expected to lead the line against Leverkusen. Poulsen has been in good form during pre-season, scoring three goals in four appearances.

Silva, meanwhile, is still finding his feet in Leipzig following his move from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer. The Portuguese international has scored just once in 12 appearances for his new club.

Conclusion

Šeško's absence will be a test for Leipzig's depth, but it could also provide an opportunity for other players to step up. Poulsen and Silva will be keen to prove their worth, and they will have the chance to do so in the Bundesliga opener against Leverkusen.
